Dr. Sivakumar Gowder earned his PhD (specialization - Biochemistry) from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. Post-doctoral appointments include: Postdoctoral Fellow – Biochemistry and Pathology, Department of Biochemistry/Pathology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India; Postdoctoral Fellow – Internal Medicine (Physiology), Department of Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, US and Postdoctoral Fellow –Pharmacology, Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Louisiana State University Medical Center, Shreveport, LA, US. He worked as a Research Scientist at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Pittsburg School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA, US.  He worked with leading scientists and physicians including Dr Alpern, past President of American Society of Nephrology. Sivakumar is an expert in renal research and also toxicological research and has developed his own research methods and techniques. He also worked as a faculty at Medical Universities in West Indies. Sivakumar is currently working as an Associate Professor at the Al-Qassim University, Buraidah, Saudi Arabia.    

Sivakumar was awarded- first prize for outstanding candidate in the bachelor’s degree program and university rank in the master’s degree program; Indian Council of Medical Research - Individual fellowship, National Institute of Health fellowship, US Army fellowship and NPS Pharmaceuticals grant to carry out his research in India and US. His current grants include: King Abdulaziz Center for Science and Technology (KASCT) grant (National grant) and Al- Qassim University Scientific Research Deanship grant. Sivakumar has authored several research and review articles. He is currently writing a text book as an author, serving as an editor for a book and an editorial member and reviewer for international journals. He is a fellow of many international organizations and has served as an invited speaker and also a chairperson for international conferences.
